Our dogs stay very active with daily exercise and interaction with us. They are not just confined to a kennel. We currently reside on just over 8 acres in Luthersville, GA, which was purchased for the dogs to make sure they have more than enough room to comfortably live on. We raise them in a "home" environment, not a "kennel" environment.
We are pretty transparent with our program. We are state licensed with the Georgia Department of Agriculture and are inspected twice per year. As a state licensed facility we are also held to a higher standard of operation than a non-licensed outfit or hobby breeder.
Our pregnant dams are housed inside our personal home to be as comfortable as possible while having their pups and to get the undivided attention they need while having their babies. We provide whatever support they need during the birthing process and after. An area in our home is dedicated just for this, for them to have their pups in peace, separate from the rest of the pack, in a temp controlled room. Those signed up for our V Diamondburg Priority Puppy List get videos during the whelping and after, up until the puppies are 8 weeks of age and going to their new homes.
We also are very proud when we get "feedback and testimonials" from previous clients about their pups from us and truly proud when those same clients come back to get another pup(s) from us. It solidifies that what we are doing is right on target.
So if you like what you see so far about our kennel, please join the V Diamondburg Priority Puppy List to stay up to date on what we are doing and have upcoming.
And if you are not ready to move forward with a pup yet? No worries! Sign up for the list anyway to stay informed.
German Shepherd Dogs are absolutely one of the best breeds in the world! They are loyal, intelligent, protective and versatile in nature. They can be working dogs (which they are by nature) or family companions. Great with kids, fun-loving and energetic, they are an all around awesome dog.
It was their versatility that inspired the creation of Von
der Diamondburg Kennels in 2011, now V Diamondburg Kennels. Although we find them to be beautiful in appearance, their loyalty, intelligence and working drive made it an easy decision to work with this breed, launching a 10+ competitive career in the sport of Schutzhund. Schutzhund is a sport designed for German Shepherds originally. With three disciplines including tracking, obedience and protection, it is a challenging but rewarding sport and most of the dogs utilized in the sport from our kennel were either bred by us or raised by us (see "Accomplishments").
